One of the main purposes of the justice system is to contribute to the safety of the country and its citizens and by so doing to enhance the quality of life for all. In his lecture Andrew Coyle, newly appointed President of the Howard League Scotland, will discuss how the various players in the Scottish justice system might best contribute to achieving this goal. This lecture is one of a series on Citizenship, organised by the Howard League for Penal Reform in Scotland and held in association with Edinburgh Law School, Centre for Law and Society. The lecture starts at 6pm sharp and will be followed by a drinks reception hosted by Howard League Scotland.
